Where Innovation Takes Shape.

Lundell Plastics Completes 16,000 sq ft R&D Expansion

07-16-12

ODEBOLT, Iowa - A leader in plastic products for the agricultural industry, Lundell Plastics continues to grow both their sales and their facility. Marking the third expansion to their headquarters in ten years, a 16,000 sq ft addition houses a brand new research and development area and greatly increases storage capacity for popular products such as Poly Cupped Flighting. The addition has also opened up space for the addition of a new 5-axis CNC router, which will significantly expand Lundell's production capabilities.

Customers will begin to see the benefits of the expansion very quickly said Matt Roeder, Engineer at Lundell Plastics. "The expansion will allow us to have more finished product in stock, which will cut down on lead time for our customers," Roeder said, "and having a dedicated R&D area should help us bring new products to market faster than ever before." Innovative products like ExoPlate, a protective poly equipment lining, have gained popularity in recent years, establishing Lundell as a company of diverse offerings. The new 5-axis CNC router will enable more complex finish operations for thermal formed parts. The router will also enable in-house tooling production to help bring new products to market faster.

The company is looking forward to seeing the results of the new expansion in the form of cutting-edge product developments and increased customer satisfaction. "We are never satisfied to be standing still," said Roeder. "This expansion will really help us bring new ideas to the table quickly and signals a new era for Lundell Plastics."
